Segal Graduate School of Business

The Segal Graduate School of business celebrated the 40th anniversary of its Executive MBA Program in 2008, illustrating the University’s long-term commitment to business education and its extensive ties with the business community. Since the creation of Canada's first Executive MBA in 1968, SFU Business has championed lifelong learning, productive change and the need to be innovative in research and teaching. The Segal Graduate Business School hosts five programs:

Strategic Alliances

The Learning Strategies’ network includes alliances with some of Canada’s leading organizations.

The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) is a member-based organization that represents the Director community in Canada. As a member institute of the Global Director Development Circle, the ICD sets the standards for Canadian Directors that are recognized both nationally and internationally. The ICD certifies directors to the community standard with the ICD.D, and educates directors through events, continuing education and formal education through its Director Education Program. The ICD also grants peerages as Fellows in the Institute.
BC Human Resources Management Association (BC HRMA) is your source for Human Resources information and services in the province. BC HRMA, committed to providing leadership in HR excellence, is the foremost professional association for HR practitioners and those involved in the business of people.
The work of Leaders for Life is to collaborate with the health system, post-secondary institutions and individuals to produce high quality learning opportunities that will improve the depth and breadth of leadership capacity in the health sector.
The Nuu-chah-nulth continues to follow their ancestors' true self-determination and real self-sufficiency when they lived and thrived on the lands and waters on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. The Learning Strategies Group and SFU Business' accreditation listing includes recognition and benchmarking of our performance in various areas against the very best international schools from the following leading international accreditation organizations.

AACSB accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide and fewer than 10% of business schools worldwide carry the AACSB international accreditation. Being AACSB-accredited means that SFU Business joins a select group of best in class business schools which meet a strict set of standards designed to ensure quality.
SFU Business is a member of PRIME initiative whose mission is to inspire and champion responsible management education, research and thought leadership globally. The PRME principles are inspired by internationally accepted values such as the United Nations Global Compact. They seek to establish a process of continuous improvement among institutions of management education in order to develop a new generation of business leaders capable of managing the complex challenges faced by business and society in the 21st century.

EQUIS, operated by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) is a business school accreditation system whose objective is to raise the standard of management education worldwide. Its scope covers all programs offered by an institution from the first degree up to the Ph.D. Institutions that are accredited by EQUIS must demonstrate not only high quality in all dimensions of their activities, but also a high degree of internationalization. EQUIS has established its prestige and recognition worldwide. Only 115 institutions across 33 countries have achieved EQUIS accreditation.
